WHAT ARE YOUR CHILD PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS? [PLUS GIVEAWAY!]

nyc_manhattan_family_photographer320The Jane Goodrich photography blog has been up and running for some time now and so perhaps it’s time to check in with its most important team member – you, the reader. For future blog posts I would love to tackle some of the questions or challenges you may encounter when taking photos of your kids or family. What do you think?

If you are interested, feel free to reply on Facebook, Twitter, or here and I’ll compile your questions or queries – once a week (maybe more often) I’ll tackle one of your comments and strive to answer it completely. It will be like having your very own photography professional on hand!

Here are some questions that may help to get your mind in motion:

–          What areas of photography do you think you need to improve in?

–          Is there a piece of equipment you think you need, but aren’t sure which to choose?

–          What types of photos do you find “never turn out” no matter how hard you try?

–          What types of photography would you like to get into the most?

–          What camera settings do you avoid using?

–          Are there any composition rules that you aren’t sure of?

As an added incentive, all respondents will be entered to win a copy of my latest book: Capturing Everyday Life: The no-nonsense, cheese-free, read-while-they-nap, easy-as-pie guide to taking top-notch, world-class photos of your kids. So tell your friends too and we can work together to create an even better database of kids’ photography tips, tricks, tutorials, and guides so you can get even more fantastic photos of your amazing children.

I need to upgrade to a new camera so is there a camera that you would suggest? Should I go all out and get a really expensive one or does that really make a difference?

How do you go about lighting up a kid’ s face without a flash in their eyes or blowing the rest of the picture’s lighting? Aka -flash recommendations and suggestions for appropriate use…
